HycusCMS – India’s First Content Management System Released

HycusCMS is an open source Indian content management system launched on August 6, 2010, by an independent web development startup based in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. Designed specifically to eliminate technical barriers for domestic web publishers, the platform introduced built-in publishing support for eight major Indian languages alongside standard content management workflows.

The Emergence of HycusCMS in the Indian Web Ecosystem

During the early 2010s, building and maintaining a dynamic website in India typically required international content management systems such as WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal.
